UN Group Calls for Reparations for Slavery, Fox News Claims Obama Will Pay Out “Lots of Cash” to Blacks in 2016

UN Group Calls for Reparations for Slavery, Fox News Claims Obama Will Pay Out “Lots of Cash” to Blacks in 2016

U.N Delegation Evaluates the U.S.
The delegation findings dealt with racial discrimination, Afrophobia, xenophobia, and protecting and promoting the human rights of African-Americans.  They include:
“Despite substantial changes since the end of the enforcement of Jim Crow and the fight for civil rights, ideology ensuring the domination of one group over another continues to negatively impact the civil, political, economic, social, cultural and environmental rights of African Americans today,” said human rights expert Mireille Fanon Mendes France, who currently heads the group of experts.
They expressed serious concerns about the police killings, the presence of police in schools, and violence targeting the African American community with impunity and racial bias in the criminal justice system, mass incarceration and the criminalization of poverty which disproportionately affects African Americans.
“The persistent gap in almost all the human development indicators, such as life expectancy, income and wealth, level of education, housing, employment and labour, and even food security, among African Americans and the rest of the US population, reflects the level of structural discrimination that creates de facto barriers for people of African descent to fully exercise their human rights,” Ms. Mendes France stressed.
There is a profound need to acknowledge that the transatlantic slave trade was a crime against humanity and among the major sources and manifestations of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance and that Africans and people of African descent were victims of these acts and continue to be victims of their consequences. Past injustices and crimes against African Americans need to be addressed with reparatory justice.
The U.N. does almost nothing without having its hand out, looking for compensation for its “input.”  In this case, the “noble” demand is that the United States pay reparations to African Americans for the past sin of slavery.
They do not mention that black Africans sold slaves to white and black masters, that Arab traders brought many of the slaves to the New World, that over 6,200,000 died in the Civil War freeing the slaves, that a huge number of African American citizens today are not descendants of slaves, nor do most non-blacks have slave ownership in their ancestry. And most importantly, they do not mention that wealth transfers to the black American population in the form of welfare and other social payment programs have far outstripped what might be remotely justifiable to compensate for slavery.
Apart from that, the U.N. would do well to find that slavery is still being practiced in Africa and the Middle East, and seek to address freeing those modern day slaves rather than reaching into the past and pretending that they are really interested in righting a past wrong.
Rather you can be sure that the U.N. is more interested in embarrassing the United States, in fomenting dissension by creating a victim class, and most importantly, seeking to interject itself into national politics to gain power as well as seeking to create a committee or group to adjudicate the proposed reparation payments while skimming off a hefty portion for administrative fees.
It is the main purpose of the U.N., and it is precisely why the U.S. should invite the organization to leave our shores and to rescind our membership.
