While many public school districts across America have submitted to Muslim demands and agreed to observe the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha and make it an official holiday, other school districts are stripping away our long-held traditions and holidays, as part of the increasingly poisonous leftist-Islamic driven agenda.

The Muslim world has long hated and banned the romantic holiday, Valentine’s Day. Now we see St. Paul is following suit.

Public School Principal Bans Valentine’s Day,  TR, February 2, 2016:
Christmas, Thanksgiving, Other ‘Dominant Holidays’
We must first better understand “how the dominant view will suppress someone else’s view.”
School administrators beholden to the cult of political correctness have completely gone off the rails. The latest insanity to occur in an America’s education system concerns Burce Vento Elementary School in St. Paul, which has decided to ban Valentine’s Day along with other so-called “dominant holidays” (i.e. Thanksgiving and Christmas) because the “dominant view” could “suppress someone else’s view.”
Did you get that?
“My personal feeling is we need to find a way to honor and engage in holidays that are inclusive of our student population,” school principal Scott Masini wrote in a letter sent home to parents.
The letter, which began circulating on Facebook according to the Star-Tribune, was titled “Supporting St. Paul Students and Teachers” and opens:
“I have come to the difficult decision to discontinue the celebration of the dominant holidays until we can come to a better understanding of how the dominant view will suppress someone else’s view.”
“One of the concerns that I have,” he wrote, “…is whether or not this practice is encroaching on the educational opportunities of others and threatening the culture of tolerance and respect for all.”
Fortunately, the backlash has been definitive, with even left-leaning Minnesota Public Radio expressing criticism over the principal’s decision. Fox News‘ Todd Starnes compiled a sampling of headlines to come out of the Twin Cities in the wake of Masini’s decision:
· St. Paul school kisses Valentine’s Day, other ‘dominant holidays,’ goodbye
· St. Paul School Mulls Dropping Holiday Celebrations
· Valentine’s Day ban touches off wider debate on school celebrations
· PC Grinch Breaks Cupid’s Heart (okay that was my headline, but still…)
Even the folks at Minnesota Public Radio got riled up – and they’re not exactly a bastion of conservative thought.
“A St. Paul school is putting a stake in the very heart of Valentine’s Day,” Bob Collins wrote.
Nonetheless, the Saint Paul Public School district released a statement to the Star-Tribune defending the principal’s over-the-top decision:
“Because Saint Paul Public Schools is a diverse district that is filled with families from around the world we strive to respect all cultures and all students,” they wrote. “We recognize that not every student celebrates or participates in some or all holidays. We have a board policy that discourages programs and festivities that celebrate observances unless they are required by law.”
The district spokesperson told Starnes that their schools are multi-cultural and include a large Somali population, indicating that this is somehow an excuse for their PC-insanity.

No other country other than Western ones strip away their traditions, holidays, customs and cultural mores to suit their immigrant populations. Moves like those made by Masini and others of his ilk are actually the opposite of being thoughtful, rather, they are reckless and pave the way for grave cultural consequences for our country.
Hopefully we will not learn this only after it is too late.

  1. It starts with giving in to what seem little demands. Next thing you know your house is taken over by Muslims who believe they have a right to what ever they want, that includes having their way with your wife, mother, daughter, and sister. This country is full of well meaning ignorant people.
