Born in Czechoslovakia, I experienced the realities of life very early. My family and I cheated death many times, from being bombed during World War II to dodging snipers in South East Asia.
To escape from communist treachery my family and I crossed borders through muddy fields, barbed wire, and armed guards.
At the age of nine I arrived in New York City. Two weeks in a new country I was immersed in the NYC school system, the best thing that could have happened to me.
I learned English quickly without forgetting Czech or German.
I immediately picked the political party that I would support, the Republican Party. That’s right; I knew where I belonged even at the age of nine.
I was a musician with my own band, worked with various promotional groups, started an out sourcing business for assembly of small manufacturing items, a computer company marketing hardware and software.
I served in South East Asia in Military Intelligence, held several positions in various fraternal organizations, worked on the U. S. Bicentennial Celebration, and now doing my best to strengthen the Republican Party.
As the Left whines, cries and invents connections between President Donald Trump and Russia, it has been reported that the leader of CalExit — the movement for California to secede from the union — has ties to Russia.
It would be easy to dismiss this as some fringe group trying to make California into its own country, but former intelligence officials tell the ABC7 News I-Team the ballot initiative leader’s ties to Russia raise serious questions.
Louis Marinelli has received support in Russia from a far-right nationalist group that wants to break up the United States. Former intelligence officials say that association raises serious questions about his intent.
....We reached out to the FBI to see if Marinelli was under investigation, but the wouldn’t comment.
Marinelli, the leader of Yes California, better known as Calexit, lives in Yekaterinburg, Russia with his Russian wife
“You don’t need this to be involved in California’s campaign for independence,” he said as he held up an American flag
Marinelli noted that he is an American citizen in response to a question from ABC7 News I-Team.
I-Team talked to the Calexit leader from his home in Russia and he discussed with them why he was in the country.
“I’m in Russia for a number of reasons,” said Marinelli. “I have personal reasons. I want to be here and I have political goals to achieve while I’m here, one of which is to build a bridge between California and Russia.
“My wife is a foreign national from Russia,” Marinelli added. “As you can imagine, we’ve had difficulty and an expensive and difficult time navigating the immigration system.”
Marinelli says California’s approach to immigration and political ideology no longer mirror the rest of the country and for that reason it should be its own country.
The ballo[t] measure would change California’s constitution and allow it to begin the process for leaving the U.S. It would force a special election asking Californians if they want to be independent.
If yes, then congress would have to agree and so would two-thirds of the state legislatures.
“With that ability we will be able to establish the kind of liberal and progressive republic that we want in California,” Marinelli told the I-Team. “But often can’t have because of congress because of the White House, because of the supreme court.”
Back in 2016, Marinelli discussed Calexit at a Moscow conference which has raised red flags about Russia’s role in the movement. The event received partial funding from a Kremlin-backed charity connected to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In addition, Marinelli has described a rent-free office space provided by The Anti-Globalization Movement of Russia as “a California embassy in Moscow.”
Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta discussed the potential impact of Calexit. “We’re a big state,” said Panetta. “With a tremendous impact in terms of this country’s economy and politics.”
Panetta then addressed what he believes Russian influence on the exit movement would mean. “If you can weaken the leadership of the United States in the world, Russia can be able to get away with a lot more of what they want to do.”
I-Team reported: “Panetta says the CIA has long suspected Russia of using political turmoil as a weapon.”
Marinelli talked about the possibility of coming back to America in response to an I-Team question: “At some point in time I hope to return to California and live under the California flag without the American flag, sure.”
According to the I-Team, Marinelli denied that the movement is working with Russia.
Now, surely the liberal mainstream media is going to show extreme concern over this Russian connection, right?
