There’s something about a woman packing heat that’d universally appealing, in that if things get rough she can always defend herself, without the need of calling for help, and perhaps becoming a victim. If Obama hears about this he would whimper and cry.
If you’re a superstar you can always rely on armed security for protection, however if you’re a savvy “independent superstar” and on the receiving end of death threats then you might want to relay on yourself and good old “Smith and Wesson” for protection.
And that’s exactly what Miranda Lambert is doing, taking responsibility for her own protection.
Why?
Because much like the protagonist of her smash hit “Gunpowder and Lead,” she carries a weapon. It may not be a shotgun, as the lyrics proclaim, but make no mistake, Lambert is armed.
In her cover issue of Self, Lambert celebrates 15 things she is not apologizing for, and her self-protection is one of them. “I carry a weapon. I got a death threat a few years ago and was really scared. But I don’t want bodyguards. I am my own security,” she tells the magazine.
It would be a good bet that after this revelation of Lambert packing heat, that she won’t be seen to soon, on any rope lines entering the White House.
