Obama’s New Friend “Caught Red Handed” In Drug Smuggling Raid

Despite the evidence that the State run media and Communist Panamanian government have been putting out, Cuban-American Representative Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) is certain that the Cuban government was involved in the drug shipment that was seized in Colón, Panama.

According to Fox News Latino, 401 kilos, an equivalent to 882 pounds, of cocaine were discovered on board a ship that was destined for Belgium. The drugs were discovered hidden within the cargo of sugar cane, and were seized as a part of an operation called Caña Brava.

After the Panama seizure was reported, Rep Diaz-Balart issued the following statement from his office:

“The Castro regime has once again been caught red-handed violating international law and norms.  This time, it reportedly was caught red-handed sending hundreds of kilos of cocaine to Belgium.  This is only the latest in the Castro regime’s long history of links to narco-trafficking.”

The representative praised the efforts of the Panamanian authorities, but cautioned that Obama’s efforts to renew Cuban-American ties was folly because it would only serve to embolden the Communist nation’s illegal activities.

“Shamefully, President Obama’s overtures to the Castro regime have emboldened it to escalate its illicit activities.  As this latest incident reveals, the Castro brothers remain a grave threat to U.S. national security interests and global stability.  President Obama’s policy of providing this rogue dictatorship with billions of dollars in sanctions relief is unconscionable.”

The Congressman pointed, as proof that the regime has a history of illegal behavior, to a 2013 seizure of 240 tons of military grade equipment bound for North Korea.

He also pointed out a 2015 seizure that happened when a hidden shipment of weapons was discovered on a ship destined for China.
