January 30, 2016 •By phoenixIn the hit television show Everybody Loves Raymond, the main character, Ray Barone, once scoffed at the idea of being with another woman besides his wife Debra. He jokingly said, “That’s one of my goals. Disappoint another woman.”
However, the idea of polygamy has been taking off in the United Kingdom, a country that does not allow it, but will recognize it as a valid marriage if the ceremony takes place in a foreign country that does allow the practice.
Some Muslims have also begun practicing Sharia marriages, or marriages that are provided by the Islamic religion, but bypass the registering process that is necessary to be recognized by the government as being legitimate. It is estimated that more than 100,000 Sharia marriages have occurred in the United Kingdom, and have caused problems with, among other things, inheritance rights of unregistered spouses.
In addition to this, a new ruling may provide an increase of welfare to those who adhere to the practice of having multiple wives.
Breitbart has found a House of Commons report that identifies a loophole in the welfare system that will allow polygamists to use their marital situation to exploit the system for more money.
Under the current rules, a majority of the benefits go to the claimant of the benefits with a lesser amount going to their multiple spouses, as they are dependents. What this means, is that if a man has three wives, under the old rules, he would receive as much as £115 while each of his wives would receive up to £40 per person. If the maximum amounts are reached, the household could earn as much as £235 per month.
Under the new Universal Credit rules, additional wives are not recognized as being apart of the claimant’s request for welfare, and can seek assistance individually. That means that the man in the above scenario would receive £155 for himself and his first wife, and each additional wife would file separately to receive £115 each. The total for this example would be £385 per month.
Polygamist arrangements have been criticized in the past because of instances in which men who follow the practice are fathering as many as 20 children at a time from multiple wives.
It is easy to see why Great Britain, as well as other Westernized European countries, are seeing massive protests over the refusal to assimilate to Western societies that do not recognize Sharia Law as a legitimate form of ruling.
This stupidity is out of control. A university professor on the UK quit his job because with his three wives and gagle of kids, he makes more on welfare then working for a living.
