Obama is Lowering Our Standard of Living

The Obama administration’s goal has been and still is to plunge America to a standard of living on par with Third World nations. Prior to the spill in the Gulf it took two weeks to process applications to drill new wells. Since the spill 5 requests have been waiting for three to nine months. He is using any excuse to raise the price of oil so that fewer and fewer people can afford to drive their vehicles, strangle the air transportation industry, make it more and more expensive to transport goods across the country, endanger supplies and their transport to our troops, and generally weaken our national security.

At a time when the oil providing nations are in political turmoil and the world oil supplies are in danger, we should be drilling and exploiting our own energy sources. We need more sites pumping oil, more refineries, more nuclear plants, and reduced restrictions on producing reusable energy sources.

The solution is private enterprise not government mismanagement, waste, and corruption. The American entrepreneur and worker, if left alone with less government interference, can make this nation strong, powerful, and respected again. Now is the time for action. We need to make some changes in Congress and the Administration.

IF THE EPA WAS here in 1865 America would still be a third world country - broke with no JOBS.

Why did all of the Steel Mills close in Pittsburg? EPA

Why did the computer chip manufactur¬ing plants close in the USA? EPA

When the EPA's proposed "Cap and Trade" is passed by the US congress, our remaining petrochemi¬cal industries will relocate to foreign countries and then they will fire most all of their thousands of employees as they close down their refinery businesses in the USA.

If the EPA had been created in 1865, the USA would be a third world country of unemployed beggars today, or maybe a part of Germany or Japan.

If the US economy implodes, the USA will probably resemble India, Mexico, China, etc., as these countries were in the decades before they industrial-ized. I do not believe that any of these foreign countries will help the US citizens if we are in distress.

Almost all products are made with steel, aluminum, plastics, lead, copper, lumber, paper, gasoline, diesel fuel, electricit¬y, and other products that pollute or destroy the environmen¬t as they are produced. I cannot think of any product that is manufactur¬ed using any processes that do not pollute the environmen¬t. Can you think of any?”

We need to use whatever sources of energy are now available

There is nothing stopping private industry to invest in alternative energy, except profitability and the vast amount of horrendous regulations, studies, and fees standing in the way. A solar energy generation plant in the California Desert was abandoned due to the high cost and time involved in getting permits to build it. A wind farm plan was abandoned when environmentalists objected on the grounds that birds might fly into them. These and other objections are standing in the way of alternative energy sources. The only companies who will be able to avoid them are those which hold favor with the government. This shows the true purpose of these stumbling blocks to California business. Their main goal is for government to have more and more control of the people.

It is against the law to manufacture solar panels in California. They are being built in India and other foreign countries which benefit leaving Americans on the side line. The motors for the wind energy generating farms are built overseas, again leaving American business out of the loop.

There have been no new refineries built in California for decades, environmentalists oppose hydroelectric plants, and even though natural leaking of oil is polluting Santa Barbara beaches and others, we can’t relieve the pressure by harvesting the oil. The cleanest source of energy is nuclear. Plants have and are being built all over the world because they are safer than ever but there are no plans for any new ones in California.

We need to use whatever sources of energy are now available while private industry searches for other economical ways. Government rules and regulations only stand in the way of our energy independence and economic recovery. Government is not the solution to problems. Government is the problem.

The Golden State is Leading the Nation in the Race to Poverty

California is leading the nation in killing jobs, forcing businesses to close, and generally reduce the standard of living for all Americans. In the past 3 of every 5 jobs in California jobs where manufacturing jobs. Now only one in ten is in manufacturing.

California has lost 20,000 jobs a year for the last five years. That is 100,000 people have lost their jobs. 100,000 people were put on the unemployment rolls. That means around five billion dollars evaporated from the California economy. That means California lost millions of dollars of income tax and sales tax revenue. Current policy of California has just put thousands of farm workers out of a job and is threatening bankruptcy to hundreds of California farmers.

Now the California Energy Commission (CEC) is proposing another job killing measure. They want to regulate the allowable electricity consumption of flat screen televisions. Will that force some residents of California to buy different TV sets? Perhaps some, but then we can get the TVs we want via internet. So what will this regulation accomplish? It will cost more Californians to lose their jobs. As one TV retailer stated, “Taking these highly popular TVs off the shelves would seriously hurt my business,” said Don Mueller, Owner of North Bay AVS Design in Santa Rosa. “I estimate that the CEC’s regulation would slash 15-20 percent of our sales. In light of today’s economic climate, we’d be forced to cut 15-20 percent of our labor to make up for the losses.”

If Obama wants to stagnate the economy, weaken America, and reduce our standard of living, he could not have picked a better model to do so. California is literally broke and is working for the further demise of a once vibrant economy. California used to be a magnet for people seeking a better life and an opportunity for budding entrepreneurs. California’s current trend is business have packed up and left or just closed down. Californians are seeking the better life else where leaving an out of work population that can not sustain the spending appetite of their leaders.
