Staggering Quotes Made by Progressive Democrats’ New Star

Tristan Justice /

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shocked political observers in June after defeating 10-term incumbent Congressman Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., in the Democratic primary for New York’s 14th District by nearly 14 points.

The 29-year-old self-described socialist who has become known as the “Sarah Palin of the Left” has used her new national voice to stump for left-wing challengers to establishment Democrats in primaries across the country.
As the fresh face of the progressive left heads to Washington, here’s a look back at some of the congresswoman-elect’s hot-button statements made in media appearances along the campaign trail.

1. Capitalism in the Crosshairs
“Unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs,” said Ocasio-Cortez in an interview on PBS’ “Firing Line with Margaret Hoover” in July when pressed on why the unemployment rate was low in a capitalist system. “Unemployment is low because people are working 60, 70, 80 hours a week and can barely feed their kids.”
Ocasio-Cortez continued to argue the days of capitalism are numbered:
And so I do think that right now we have this no-holds-barred, Wild West hyper-capitalism. What that means is profit at any cost. Capitalism has not always existed in the world, and it will not always exist in the world. When this country started, we were not a capitalist [nation], we did not operate on a capitalist economy.
2. Backpedaling on Israel
In the same interview, Ocasio-Cortez also referred to the situation in Palestine as an “occupation” by Israel.
When Hoover asked Ocasio-Cortez to clarify her position after pointing out the term “occupation” was controversial, Ocasio-Cortez, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from Boston University, struggled to explain her comment.

“I am not the expert on geopolitics on this issue,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “You know, for me, I’m a firm believer in finding a two-state solution on this issue.”

3. Explaining the Extinction of the Middle Class
In another interview, speaking with former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett on the liberal podcast “Pod Save America,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed the “upper-middle class doesn’t exist anymore.”

Ocasio-Cortez was discussing the political ideology of the country’s different socioeconomic classes when she made the claim:
I think that politically, this upper-middle class is probably more moderate, but that upper-middle class doesn’t exist anymore in America, and thanks to the continued deregulation of Wall Street, thanks to the continued gutting of working- and middle-class people, we need stronger champions.
However, both the Urban Institute, and the American Enterprise Institute have presented evidence showing the upper-middle class is actually growing.
4. A Simple Payment Plan for Progressive Medicare
When asked in an interview with Jorge Ramos last week about how to pay for Sen. Bernie Sanders’, I-V.T., “Medicare for All” proposal, which Ocasio-Cortez has put at the center of her campaign, Ocasio-Cortez responded, “You just pay for it.” She continued:
People often say, how are you gonna pay for it? And I find the question so puzzling because, how do you pay for something that’s more affordable? How do you pay for cheaper rent? How do you pay for—you just pay for it.
During this election cycle, Ocasio-Cortez and other progressive Democrats like Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, who lost the Florida gubernatorial race, have claimed Sanders’ “Medicare for All” plan would save the country $2 trillion if implemented, but the claim has been criticized by fact-checkers as inaccurate.

In fact, a study by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University shows the plan would cost more than $32.6 trillion over 10 years, requiring historic tax hikes.

5. Comparing Climate Change to World War II
In a speech on her economic plan, Ocasio-Cortez likened combating climate change to the challenge posed by Nazi Germany in World War II, surmising the United States confront the issue with the same amount of resources.
“So we talk about existential threats, the last time we had a really major existential threat to this country was around World War II, and so we’ve been here before and we have a blueprint of doing this before,” Ocasio-Cortez said, adding:
What we had was an existential threat in the context of a war. We had a direct existential threat with another nation, this time it was Nazi Germany, and the Axis, who explicitly made the United States as an enemy, as an enemy. And what we did was that we chose to mobilize our entire economy and industrialized our entire economy and we put hundreds if not millions of people to work in defending our shores and defending this country. We have to do the same thing in order to get us to 100 percent renewable energy, and that’s just the truth of it.
6. Shutting Down Debate on Fossil Fuels
According to Fox News, Ocasio-Cortez declared at a campaign fundraiser there was “no debate” that fossil fuel production should be stopped.

“There’s no debate as to whether we should continue producing fossil fuels. There’s no debate,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

7. Carrying the ‘Organizer’ Torch to Washington
When asked by Chris Hayes on MSNBC about what she plans to do once she gets to Congress in two months, Ocasio-Cortez struggled to develop a coherent response and failed to offer any specifics. Instead, Ocasio-Cortez delivered this message on air:

Illegal Alien Abused 3-Year-Old Girl, Pimped Her Out To Other Illegal Aliens

From "Concerned American" October 25, 2018

MESA, AZ (KTAR) – A Mesa man was expected to spend the next three decades behind bars for abusing a 3-year-old girl, it was announced Tuesday.

Maricopa County Judge Warren Granville sentenced Fransico Javier-Rios Covarrubias to 35 years in prison for two counts of kidnapping and three counts of attempted child abuse.

Covarrubias was also sentenced to lifetime probation for his crimes. He pleaded guilty to the charges in August.

“When an adult causes harm to a child like this, violating both the trust and innocence of a child, they must be held accountable for their depraved actions,” Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said in a statement.

“This office is committed to aggressively prosecuting offenders who abuse the most innocent and defenseless among us, ensuring they are sent to prison where they belong.”

Covarrubias was arrested in 2016 after officers received reports that a young girl was being severely abused — and possibly offered to other men for sexual abuse — by her caretaker.

Officers found the girl in a trash bag in a closet. Her wrists and ankles were bound with duct tape, which was also found over her mouth.

The girl had multiple bruises and injuries and had been left in a heavily soiled diaper for some time.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she was found to be malnourished and dehydrated and had extensive injuries from being left in soiled diapers and possible sexual abuse.

The girl also could not communicate and could barely stand.
Covarrubias told officers that he left the girl in the trash bag so her soiled diaper would not ruin his apartment and that he kept her bound in the closet so she would not get out when he had people over.

He had been watching the girl, who was the daughter of a previous co-worker, off and on for months.

European Court Rules Against Free Speech; in Favor of Islam

European Court Rules Against Free Speech; in Favor of Islam
 Written by

Europe took another step toward sharia law last Thursday when it ruled that an individual’s right to free speech did not extend to "insulting" the Prophet Mohammed. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) upheld the conviction of an Austrian woman who was fined for relating scripturally based behavior of the prophet to pedophilia.
The Austrian woman, known only as E.S., said during two seminars in 2009 that the Prophet Mohammed’s marriage to six-year-old Aisha at a time when the prophet would have been in his 50s was akin to pedophilia. The Koran states that the marriage was not consummated until Aisha reached the age of nine.

E.S. reportedly told the seminar attendees, “Muhammad liked to do it with children,” and also stated, “A 56-year old and a six-year-old … what do we call it, if it’s not pedophilia?”
The defendant argued that her comments fell within her right to free expression and that religions must be able to allow some criticism of their teachings. She further stated that the comments were not meant to defame Mohammed but to ignite public debate.

E.S. was originally found guilty in a Vienna court in 2011 and ordered to pay a €480 ($547) fine. An Austrian appeals court upheld the original decision.

From the ECHR ruling: “By accusing Muhammad of pedophilia, [E.S.] had merely sought to defame him, without providing evidence that his primary sexual interest in Aisha had been her not yet having reached puberty or that his other wives or concubines had been similarly young. In particular, [E.S.] disregarded the fact that the marriage with Aisha had continued until the Prophet’s death, when she had already turned eighteen and had therefore passed the age of puberty.”

Linda Sarsour Asks Muslims To Form "Jihad" Against Trump, Not To Assimilate

Activist Linda Sarsour, co-chair of the 2017 women's march against Donald Trump, called for a "jihad" against the president at the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) convention in Chicago over the weekend. Sarsour was a delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

Sarsour is a supporter of the BDS movement against Israel and opposes bans of sharia. She also is a somewhat frequent MSNBC guest and has appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show.

"I hope that we when we stand up to those who oppress our communities that Allah accepts from us that as a form of jihad. That we are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad in the Middle East or in the other side of the world, but here in these United States of America where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reigning in the White House," Sarsour said.

"Our number one and top priority is to protect and defend our community, it is not to assimilate and please any other people and authority," she said. "Our obligation is to our young people, is to our women, to make sure our women are protected in our community."

"Our top priority and even higher than all those other priorities is to please Allah and only Allah," Sarsour declared.

Ben Jacobs of The Guardian tweeted Sarsour "was a vocal surrogate for Bernie Sanders during the 2016 primary and a DNC delegate."

Obama To Americans: You Don't Deserve To Be Free

English: Barack Obama delivers a speech at the...

defend laissez-faire capitalism, using Ayn Rand's Objectivism.
President Obama's Kansas speech is a remarkable document. In calling for more government controls, more taxation, more collectivism, he has two paragraphs that give the show away. Take a look at them.
there is a certain crowd in Washington who, for the last few decades, have said, let's respond to this economic challenge with the same old tune. "The market will take care of everything," they tell us. If we just cut more regulations and cut more taxes--especially for the wealthy--our economy will grow stronger. Sure, they say, there will be winners and losers. But if the winners do really well, then jobs and prosperity will eventually trickle down to everybody else. And, they argue, even if prosperity doesn't trickle down, well, that's the price of liberty.
Now, it's a simple theory. And we have to admit, it's one that speaks to our rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government. That's in America's DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. (Laughter.) But here's the problem: It doesn't work. It has never worked. (Applause.) It didn't work when it was tried in the decade before the Great Depression. It's not what led to the incredible postwar booms of the '50s and '60s. And it didn't work when we tried it during the last decade. (Applause.) I mean, understand, it's not as if we haven't tried this theory.
Though not in Washington, I'm in that "certain crowd" that has been saying for decades that the market will take care of everything. It's not really a crowd, it's a tiny group of radicals--radicals for capitalism, in Ayn Rand's well-turned phrase.

The only thing that the market doesn't take care of is anti-market acts: acts that initiate physical force. That's why we need government: to wield retaliatory force to defend individual rights.
Radicals for capitalism would, as the Declaration of Independence says, use government only "to secure these rights"--the rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. (Yes, I added "property" in there--property rights are inseparable from the other three.)
That's the political philosophy on which Obama is trying to hang the blame for the recent financial crisis and every other social ill. But ask yourself, are we few radical capitalists in charge? Have radical capitalists been in charge at any time in the last, oh, say 100 years?

Maxine Waters Charged with Three Ethics Violations

The House ethics committee today released three charges of ethical wrongdoing against Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California.

The charges relate to whether Waters gave inappropriate assistance to a bank to which she had personal connections in getting federal bailout money.

The committee says Waters organized a meeting in 2008 between Treasury officials and executives from OneUnited Bank, where her husband was once a board member and had large investments. The bank received $12 million from the federal government's Troubled Asset Relief Program.
The first charge against Waters states she violated a House rule that members must "behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House." Waters should have instructed her chief of staff to stop assisting OneUnited once it became clear she should not be involved in helping the bank, but she failed to do so, the charges state.

Her staff's "continued involvement in assisting OneUnited created an appearance that [Waters] was taking official action for [Waters'] personal benefit, which did not reflect creditably on the House," the charges state.

Waters was also charged with violating the "spirit" of the House rule that prohibits a member from receiving compensation for exerting improper influence from her position in Congress. Waters' husband's investments in OneUnited constituted compensation, according to the charges.

The congresswoman was also charged with violating the Code of Ethics for Government Service.

Waters, who serves on the House Financial Services Committee, has defended her request for the meeting between Treasury officials and OneUnited executives as part of her efforts to advocate on behalf of minority-owned businesses. She maintains she is innocent of any wrongdoing and would rather face a public trial before the ethics committee this fall than admit to any of the charges against her.

House Democrat Charlie Rangel was also charged with multiple ethics violations this summer and will stand trial before the committee in the fall.

MEF Organizes 25,000 Strong Protest in Support of Tommy Robinson

PHILADELPHIA – July 8, 2018 – Tommy Robinson, the imprisoned English counter-Islamist activist, journalist, and book author, justifiably titled his autobiography Enemy of the State, for he has long been a target of the U.K. authorities impatient with his criticism of Islamism.

The Middle East Forum (MEF) is helping Robinson in his moment of danger. It does so in the context of its Legal Project which since 2007 has defended activists, journalists, politicians, et al. who face harassment, fines, or imprisonment because of their views concerning Islamism and related topics.

MEF is sponsoring and organizing the second “Free Tommy Robinson” gathering in London on July 14. MEF previously provided all the funding and helped organized the first “Free Tommy Robinson” event held June 9 in London.

MEF, along with a coalition of UK advocacy groups and international figures will assemble to advocate for Mr. Robinson’s release and demand greater protections for freedom of speech and freedom of the press in the United Kingdom. MEF is arranging for U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar (Republican of Arizona) to travel to London to speak alongside the Dutch political leader Geert Wilders, and others.

The latest incident began on May 25 with Mr. Robinson reporting on a rape-grooming trial involving Muslim defendants in Leeds, England, for which he was arrested, tried, convicted, sentenced to 13 months prison, and jailed – all in the course of a few hours. To make matters worse, he was tricked out of the right to confer with counsel. Now, he has been moved to historically violent Olney prison, where he is a potential target of Islamist gangs.

“The police allow rape gangs to operate for decades but swoop down within minutes on Tommy Robinson for a peccadillo,” notes Forum president Daniel Pipes. “We worry that his life is now in immediate peril.”

Forum director Gregg Roman adds: “Western democracy requires a robust public discussion of Islam – including terrorism, terrorist funding, Islamism, immigration and related matters – not its suppression. No matter one’s views of Mr. Robinson, all decent people must support his right to discuss controversial matters without fear of arrest, secret trial, and imprisonment.”

The Middle East Forum is aiding Mr. Robinson’s defense in three main ways:
  • Legally – By using Legal Project monies to fund his legal defense.
  • Diplomatically – By bringing foreign pressure on the UK government to ensure Mr. Robinson’s safety and eventual release.
  • Politically – By organizing and funding the 25,000-person “Free Tommy” London rally on June 9 and now the July 14 protest, also taking place in London.

Poland wants permanent U.S. military base, willing to pay $2 billion for it -- Russia is pissed

In this file photo taken Jan. 12, 2017, welcomed in Zagan, Poland, first U.S. troops are arriving at the Zagan base in western Poland as part of deterrence force of some 1,000 troops to be based here and reassure Poland that is worried about Russia's activity.(AP Photo/Czarek Sokolowski)

- The Washington Times

Russia threatened retaliation Monday after news that Poland wants a permanent U.S. military base within its borders and is willing to pay up to $2 billion for the facility.

The proposal for an American base touched off a rhetorical firestorm between Moscow and Warsaw, as leaders from both sides traded threats and cast a fresh spotlight on simmering tensions in Eastern Europe.

U.S. officials had no immediate comment on the Polish plan, but Moscow seized the opportunity Monday — on an otherwise quiet Memorial Day in Washington — to push back hard against potential attempts by the Trump administration to bolster the U.S. military presence in the region.

“These expansionist steps, certainly, result in counteractions of the Russian side to balance the parity which is violated every time this way,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow.

A key Russian senator went further, suggesting Poland would make itself a target if the plan for a permanent American base comes to fruition.

Poland will become “the object of a retaliatory strike,” said Vladimir Dzhabarov, who serves on the Russian Federation

What is AB 2943?

AB 2943 prohibits individuals, whether a pastor, clergy, or licensed therapist, from: advertising sexual orientation change efforts, offering to engage in sexual orientation change efforts, and engaging in sexual orientation change efforts.

Under this bill, a person, an organization, including a church who is paid for goods or services cannot engage in any practice-including pure speech-that tells someone that they can overcome unwanted same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion.

Contrary to what proponents are claiming, AB 2943 bans the sale of books expressing Christian beliefs about sexual morality. It includes anyone who speaks or offers a book with regards to advertisement. Some examples of the books that would be banned under this legislation include: When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Movement, By God's Design: Overcoming Same Sex Attraction, and The Complete Christian Guide to Understanding Homosexuality.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) states, "At its core, AB 2943 outlaws speech, whether offered by a licensed counselor, a best-selling author, or even a minister or religious leader. It targets a specific message-that an adult who is experiencing unwanted same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion can find help to address those issues-for censorship. The breadth of this censorship is staggering. "

ADF goes on to say that under AB 2943:
  • A licensed counselor could not help a married mother of three who is experiencing unwanted attraction to a close female friend or confusion over her gender identity overcome those feelings;
  • A religious ministry could not hold a conference on maintaining sexual purity if the conference encourages attendees to avoid homosexual behavior;
  • A bookstore (including online bookstores like Amazon) could not sell many recently published books challenging gender identity ideology and advocating that these beliefs should be rejected by society; and
  • A pastor paid to speak at an event addressing current social topics could not encourage attendees that they can prevail over same-sex desires or feelings that they were born the wrong sex.

Czech republic:: Communists flex their muscles as coalition talks near conclusion

The Communists have been consistent in their demands for the church restitution law to be revised and for the money to be taxed. It is one of our key conditions in return for tolerating this government. If this condition is not fulfilled it would create a huge problem since our members and supporters consider it of immense importance.”

As efforts to form a new minority coalition government of the ANO party and the Social Democrats tolerated by the Communists reach their final stage, the Communist Party has been milking the situation to its best advantage. After rocking the boat over the country’s foreign missions, the party now says that unless its bill on taxing Church restitutions passes through the lower house the two parties can look for support elsewhere

Communist Party leader Vojtěch Filip (center), photo: ČTK/Kamaryt MichalThe Communist Party is experiencing an unexpected twist of fortune – after its worst election result in years, the party is on the brink of breaking into top-level politics with an unprecedented influence on government decision-making.
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, whose ANO party won the last general elections by a broad margin, has struggled hard to gain partners willing to close their eyes to the fact that he stands charged with EU subsidy fraud. As a result, Babiš has been forced to give the Social Democrats, who also did poorly in the last elections, a more than generous share of ministerial posts and policy concessions and come to terms with the fact that his government would have to rely on support from the long-ostracized Communist Party.
For the Communists this is an unexpected chance to make good on their election defeat. In addition to various policy concessions in the social field, they recently made themselves heard that they were not prepared to tolerate the country reinforcing its presence in foreign missions – something the cabinet had already pledged to do. In the end a compromise was reached and last week the lower house approved the reinforcement of Czech troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Mali by 275 soldiers this year. However the Communists are still fighting the idea of Czech pilots taking their turn to protect the airspace of the Baltic States in 2019 without a UN resolution.

Then, in a Czech TV debate on Sunday, the head of the Communists’ deputies group, Pavel Kováčik, said the party would only support the emerging minority coalition, if financial compensation paid to churches for property seized during the communist era is taxed. This is something the Communists have pushed for since the respective compensation agreement was reached in 2012. Now an amendment which would level a tax on some of the restitution money is in its second reading in Parliament and the Communists want to ensure its smooth passage. Pavel Kováčik.

Pavel Kováčik, photo: Filip JandourekThe Communists will not have to ask twice. Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has already said he considers the restitution sum overinflated by some 54 billion crowns and his party already supported the bill in its first reading, as did the Social Democrats and the Freedom and Direct Democracy Party.
Given these circumstances, it would appear that the Communists are flogging a dead horse, but in this case their newly tabled demand is likely intended for the ears of their supporters in an effort to boost the party’s flagging popularity, as is the statement that none of the potential government’s future decisions can count on apriori support from the Communists.

UK: Police dropped cases against 20 Muslim rape gang members in Telford, they were “too much trouble”

By

West Mercia’s Assistant Chief Constable Martin Evans claimed that the cases were dropped for many reasons: “These included the fact that there would have been a requirement for victims to give evidence in court, furthering their ordeal.”

But one of the victims said: “I was never told about these orders or asked if I would give evidence in court against my abusers. If I had been asked, I would have done.”

In reality, the primary job of the police was to protect the gang rapists, because they were Muslims, so that the British public wouldn’t start to think ill of Islam and Muslims.

“Claim: Police Dropped Cases Against 20 Telford Groomers Because They Were ‘Too Much Trouble,’” by Liam Deacon, Breitbart, March 19, 2018 (thanks to David):
Three police officers have come forward to reveal how cases against Telford rape gang members were allegedly dropped because pursuing court orders was considered “too much trouble”.

One officer was said they were “horrified” by the decision and another claimed the scale of the abuse was “huge”, after a probe by journalists suggested there could be as many as 1,000 victims in the small town.

A least one of the police whistleblowers was prompted to come forward after the BBC promoted the views of Superintendent Tom Harding, of West Mercia Police, who argued the numbers had been “sensationalised” by the media.

Furthermore, a mother of one of the victimised young girls who died in circumstances linked to the scandal claims nothing was done after she handed police a three-page list of potential suspects.

The fresh revelations, reported by the Sunday Mirror, come as West Mercia Police confirmed a number of victims have come forward in the wake of recent media coverage.

Authorities have already been accused of failing to act, including ignoring girls found in cars with older men, girls giving birth at 14, and children being given the morning after pill several times a week. There were also claims of a “cover-up” after a police chaplain was suspended for whistleblowing and a police-funded charity forced a worker out of her job after she tried to speak up.

Now, another police whistleblower said the estimate of 1,000 victims could be accurate. “I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility at all,” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised. It was the tip of the iceberg.”

Another added: “Two senior officers had a conversation about going for Sexual Risk Orders. It would have meant they would be monitored by the police. It can be effective with a low reoffending rate.

“The question was, should we apply for 20 or 25 of these orders? The view from the senior officer was it was too much trouble. A lot of us were horrified when they didn’t want to do that.

“It would have been a lot of work but what price do we put on protecting these kids?”

They also expressed frustration that so few of the attackers, predominantly of the town’s Pakistani Muslim community, were put behind bars.

The officer said: “At one point we had 70 cases and one victim had close to 100 offenders. Many officers were frustrated because the CPS was treating the cases as separate when we knew they were linked.”

However, West Mercia’s Assistant Chief Constable Martin Evans denied that workload was the reason cases had been dropped: “These civil orders were seriously considered and the decision not to pursue them was for a number of reasons.
“These included the fact that there would have been a requirement for victims to give evidence in court, furthering their ordeal.

“Other measures were put in place to make sure those considered a potential threat were closely monitored and reviewed and this continues to be the case.”

One of the abused girls hit back, telling the Mirror: “I was never told about these orders or asked if I would give evidence in court against my abusers. If I had been asked, I would have done.”

EU Unveils Plans to Punish Patriotic Eastern Nations Who Oppose Mass Muslim Migration and Brutal Sharia Laws

EU Unveils Plans for ‘Drastic’ Funding Cuts to Patriotic Eastern Nations

By Virginia Hale, Breitbart, May 30, 2018:

Patriotic Visegrád nations in the east will each see their regional funding from Brussels slashed by around a quarter under new European Union (EU) budget rules which reward the intake of third world migrants.

Presented by the European Commission on Tuesday, the draft budget for 2021-2027 proposed what New Europe describes as “drastic” cuts in cohesion funds to Central Europe, with Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic each set to see a reduction of just under 25 per cent.

The plans would see Brussels shift the criteria for allocating the €373 billion pot — which is aimed at boosting the economies of poorer nations — away from GDP per capita and towards so-called EU “values” including migration and environmental policy.

Senior EU figures have repeatedly insisted that every nation in Europe must agree to allow large numbers of third world migrants to settle within its borders, asserting this to be a core feature of belonging to the bloc.

Opponents of Eastern European hesitance to follow in the so-called multicultural footsteps of their Western neighbours, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, have both previously suggested the distribution of EU funds should be linked to the number of asylum seekers that countries host.

Just days prior to Italian President Sergio Mattarella’s shock rejection of a populist coalition government backed by voters, EU Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said he was confident Italy’s borders would remain open, despite the rejection of mass migration at the polls.

Disregarding the widespread anger felt by Italians at the continuing arrival of hundreds of thousands of Africans, he said that the country’s migration policy “will continue on the road travelled until now”, insisting Italy must continue playing its “very important role in Europe” as an entry point for the world’s migrants.

Police Seek ‘Asian’ Man After Teen Suffers ‘Horrific’ Alleyway Rape in Small English Village

rape

Police have launched a manhunt for an ‘Asian’ man after a teenager in a small Buckinghamshire village was raped in an alleyway.

The victim was standing in an alleyway in Hazlemere, an English village known to date back more than 800 years, at around 8 p.m. on March 15th when a stranger grabbed her and proceeded to rape her, police said.
Appealing for information from the public on Friday, Thames Valley Police released an e-fit of the attacker, described as “an Asian man, around thirty to forty-year-old, short and of large build, with a tattoo on his forearm.”
Investigating officer Detective Constable David Mitchell of Force CID based at High Wycombe said: “We have been conducting a thorough investigation into this horrific offence and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
“As part of this investigation, today we are releasing an E-fit of the offender and would ask anyone who recognises him or someone matching his description to please come forward and call 101.

This is a serious offence and we have been carrying out house to house enquiries, as well as reviewing any available CCTV and collecting witness statements,” he said.
Despite a small population of just over 9,000 people, a number of famous figures including left-wing television personality James Corden, aircraft and aviation designer Sir Geoffrey de Havilland, and Nobel Prize-winning chemist Sir William Ramsey have hailed from Hazlemere or called the village home.
While the council notes that a prisoner of war camp was constructed in the parish after the outbreak of the Second World War and later used as temporary accommodation for refugees escaping the conflict in Europe, it is unclear how or when groups of non-European migrants may have come to live in the village.
On Friday, police in Plymouth appealed to the public for help with an investigation into a similar attack, in which a black man with an accent “similar” to Jamaican dragged a teenage male student down an alleyway and subjected him to what officers reported was an “oral rape”.
